You will be joining an established and well-respected Tier 1 contractor operating within the water industry. This multi-accredited and high-profile contractor delivers large-scale clean and waste water capital programmes for Welsh Water and offers a strong pipeline of AMP8 works as well as excellent opportunities for career progression and professional development. Due to continued success, they are actively seeking a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. This is a full-time permanent position based out of their Cardiff office with hybrid working and occasional site visits.

As a Managing Quantity Surveyor, you’ll take a strategic leadership role in the commercial delivery of complex, high-value water infrastructure projects. Working within their capital project delivery team, you will:

  • Lead and mentor a team of Quantity Surveyors across multiple projects
  • Manage commercial risk, procurement strategies and contract negotiations (NEC)
  • Oversee cost planning, forecasting and reporting to ensure financial targets are achieved
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers and client teams to align scope, budget and delivery
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and develop robust commercial frameworks
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and client standards, including AMP and environmental targets

This is a high-impact role where your expertise will shape commercial strategy and performance across a portfolio of technically challenging schemes.

In order to be successful, you will need:

  • Degree/HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying (or similar) or experience
  • Proven track record managing large-scale, complex infrastructure projects
  • Strong working knowledge of NEC form of contract
  • Sound leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Full UK driving licence
