A leading construction and development organisation is seeking a Construction Manager to join its buildings team on a major project in central Cambridge. This full-time, permanent role involves coordinating complex construction activities, managing multiple trade contractors, and supporting the successful delivery of a high-value commercial scheme.
What you’ll do:
- Manage trade contractors across working drawings, procurement, prefabrication, and on-site performance.
- Oversee subcontractors, labour and material planning, supporting Project Managers with both on-site and off-site activities.
- Coordinate build and MEP trades to ensure efficient sequencing and safe delivery.
- Resolve site issues proactively, reporting defects, identifying improvements, and refining construction methodologies.
- Support the design process by working with design teams to align production information with site requirements and cost constraints.
What you’ll bring:
- Proven experience in construction management on major commercial building projects.
- Strong background in managing multiple trade contractors across complex work fronts.
- Experience with internal packages or façade works (preferred).
- Ability to lead collaborative planning and coordination sessions between trade contractors.
- Relevant degree or equivalent experience in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
