As a Trainee Accountant, you’ll embark on a formal training contract to study for your ACA or ACCA qualification. Your responsibilities will include:
- Bookkeeping to trial balance
- Preparing VAT returns and reconciling balance sheet accounts
- Preparing annual statutory accounts and corporation tax returns
- Assisting with client payrolls, personal tax returns, and audits
- Supporting ad hoc assignments and contributing to process improvements
This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:30 pm, and includes paid study leave.
What you’ll need to succeed:
- Strong academic background: GCSE Maths and English (grade 6 or above) and ideally three A Levels, including Maths at grade B or above.
- Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Initiative, drive, and excellent organisational skills
- Accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines
- A positive attitude and sense of humour
