You will be joining an established and well-respected Tier 1 civil engineering contractor delivering environmental projects in the South West of England. This is a full-time permanent position based out of their Bridgwater depot with hybrid working and site visits (along the M5 corridor, Bristol to Torquay) as and when required.
As Assistant Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the safe, efficient and high-quality delivery of self-delivered heavy civils works. Working alongside experienced Project Managers and operational teams, you will gain exposure to all project stages across flood defence, water management, canal infrastructure and environmental improvement programmes.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the planning and delivery of self-delivered heavy civils projects
- Assisting with documentation, contract administration and stakeholder reporting
- Monitoring programme performance, risk management, compliance and costs
- Coordinating with in-house engineering, site and commercial teams
- Ensuring adherence to health, safety and environmental standards
- Engaging in problem-solving, continuous improvement and project coordination
This role provides exceptional development toward full project management responsibility within a respected Tier 1 organisation.
In order to be successful, you will bring:
- Experience as an Assistant/Junior/Trainee Project Manager or Site Agent within heavy civils
- Understanding of RAMS and ITPs
- Sound organisational and communication skills
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset
- Confidence coordinating multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
- Full UK driving licence
