Interim Medical Staffing Project Coordinator – NHS Contract: 4–6 months

Location: Hybrid (Virtual & On-site preferred, fully virtual considered)

Are you an experienced Medical Staffing professional with a strong understanding of rota compliance and workforce resilience? We are partnering with a leading NHS organisation to recruit two Interim Medical Staffing Project Coordinators for a critical project focused on improving medical workforce planning and rota compliance across multiple specialities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead project work reviewing compliant rota templates for Resident and Locally Employed Doctors across 35 specialties.
  • Assess rota templates against pre-defined criteria, develop RAG ratings, and analyse supporting data (exception reports) to identify trends and risks.
  • Collaborate with Care Groups to explore solutions for identified gaps, including shift timing revisions and rota participant adjustments, ensuring patient care and workforce wellbeing.
  • Provide a confident check and challenge to ensure compliance with the 2016 Resident Doctor Contract.
  • Support the rollout of medical rostering systems and processes.
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Strong working knowledge of the 2016 Resident Doctor Contract.
  • Experience with rota template design and compliance.
  • Ability to interpret workforce data and provide actionable insights.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with confidence to influence and challenge.
  • NHS experience in medical staffing or workforce planning is highly desirable.

These roles are offered on a full-time basis, 37 hours per week via Hays online timesheet basis. Start ASAP – 4 to 6 month interim contract via Hays Hybrid working on-site days per week in Bournemouth, Poole. However, they may consider fully remote.
