We are seeking a proactive, reliable, and hands-on Site Supervisor to join the friendly team at a Secondary School in Bolton. This role is initially offered on a temporary basis until the end of the academic year, with a guaranteed extension from August, when the post will transition into a maternity cover for the Site Manager for approximately 12 months. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong practical skills, commitment to maintaining a safe learning environment, and the ambition to develop their experience in premises management.
Location: Bolton
Contract: Temporary until end of academic year, with confirmed maternity cover from August for approx. 12 months
Hours: Full-time, 6am - 2pm or 8am - 4pm
Start Date: ASAP
Rate: £ - £16/hour (Site Supervisor), then increasing to £ - £18/hour (Site Manager)
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the school site is safe, secure, clean, and well maintained at all times
- Carry out general maintenance, repairs, and DIY tasks
- Support the smooth running of school operations, including site setup for events
- Conduct regular health & safety checks and report any issues promptly
- Oversee site security, including opening and locking the school buildings
- Liaise with contractors and supervise works where required
- Support the Site Manager and take on additional responsibilities as the role transitions into maternity cover in August

- Previous experience in a caretaking, site supervision, or site management role within an education setting
- Strong practical skills and confidence carrying out day-to-day maintenance
- Good understanding of health & safety and safeguarding procedures
- A flexible, positive, and proactive approach to work
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team
- Reliability, professionalism, and a strong work ethic
