Hays Education is supporting friendly primary schools across Edgbaston and the wider B15 area as they prepare for the new academic year. We are looking for caring, dependable Teaching Assistants who can be a valued part of school life from September 2026.
You may already have classroom experience, or you might be looking to build on your work with children in another setting. Either way, if you are patient, positive and keen to help pupils thrive, this could be the next step for you.
Your new role: You will work alongside the class teacher to help pupils feel supported, included and ready to learn. Your day may involve:
- Supporting learning and classroom activities across EYFS, KS1 or KS2
- Guiding small groups through focused tasks
- Offering individual support to pupils who need extra encouragement
- Helping children develop confidence, independence and positive learning habits
- Contributing to a calm, welcoming and inclusive classroom
- Supporting classroom organisation and everyday routines
Full-time and part-time options are available, including long-term assignments and roles with the potential to be permanent.
What you'll need to succeed: Schools are particularly interested in people who bring the right attitude as well as relevant experience. You should:
- Have supported children in a school, nursery, childcare, youth work or similar setting
- Genuinely enjoy helping children learn, grow and feel confident
- Be dependable, flexible and ready to use your initiative
- Ideally hold a Level 2 or Level 3 TA, CACHE, NVQ or equivalent qualification
