You will be joining a forward-thinking local authority delivering a significant SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) Transformation Programme. You will work alongside experienced programme managers, senior stakeholders and education professionals, supporting the successful delivery of key project objectives.

Your new role

As a Project Support Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of a large-scale SEND transformation programme. Working closely with project leads and stakeholders, you will provide project coordination, reporting and administrative support to ensure project milestones are met, andernance processes are maintained.This is a varied role that requires excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple work streams simultaneously.Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the delivery and progression of the SEND Transformation Programme.
  • Assisting with project planning, monitoring milestones and tracking progress against key objectives.
  • Preparing high-quality reports, presentations, briefing papers and project documentation.
  • Collecting, analysing and presenting project data to support decision-making.
  • Coordinating meetings, workshops and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Maintaining project plans, risk registers, action trackers and programme documentation.
  • Supportingernance processes and ensuring project information is accurate and up to date.
  • Working with stakeholders at all levels, managingmunications both upwards and downwards within the programme structure.
  • Identifying potential issues, escalating risks where appropriate and supporting solutions.
  • Contributing ideas and process improvements to enhance programme delivery and efficiency.
  • This is a hybrid role, primarily working from home, with attendance at the office and project meetings required when necessary.

    What you'll need to succeed

    To be successful in this role, you will have previous experience supporting projects or programmes and a solid understanding of project management principles.You will ideally have:

  • Previous experience as a Project Support Officer, Project Coordinator, Programme Support Officer or similar role.
  • Exposure to project management methodologies andernance processes.
  • Strong understanding of project life cycles and project delivery frameworks.
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret and present information effectively.
  • Experience producing professional reports, presentations and project documentation.
  • Advanced IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams.
  • Excellentmunication and stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to work proactively, use initiative and quickly graspplex project information.
  • Confidence in managing relationships across different levels of an organisation.
  • A basic DBS check or willingness to obtain one.
  • A project management qualification such as PRINCE2, APM or similar would be advantageous, although candidates currently working towards accreditation will also be considered.
