Interim Schools Job Evaluation Specialist
Location: Birmingham (Hybrid working)
Day Rate: Up to £500

About the Role
A large public sector organisation is seeking an experienced HR professional with strong expertise in school operations and job evaluation to support its Schools Job Evaluation programme. This is a critical role providing technical advice, guidance, and hands-on support to schools and their HR providers during the review and update of Job Descriptions and Person Specifications (JDPS).
Key Responsibilities
- Liaise with schools to clarify existing roles and assist in developing updated JDPS documents, including writing person specifications.
- Provide advice and guidance to schools and HR providers on organisational policy during JD reviews and JD workshops.
- Examples include addressing duties outside the original JD, assessing job redesign needs, and rectifying historic pay anomalies (e.g., first-aider allowances).
- Offer technical advice and support for dispute resolution processes, including attendance at dispute panels and casework alignment with organisational policies.
- Ensure employer policies and guidance are accessible, well communicated, and meet the needs of schools.
- Troubleshoot ad hoc issues at the interface of Job Evaluation, policy, school practice, and independent HR advisors.
