Are you an Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer looking for a challenging and dynamic role with a variety of projects? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! Due to increasing demand for their services, we are seeking to expand their talented and hardworking electrical team with an Intermediate based in their Birmingham office. You will play a key role in delivering innovative solutions for their clients. Their diverse range of projects will allow you to develop your engineering skills, working across all RIBA deliverable stages for both new and refurbished facilities. The team structure is designed to provide quality mentoring and coaching, supporting your development as you gain knowledge and experience. Their projects span all sectors of the construction industry, offering great opportunities to cross-pollinate ideas and solutions, enabling you to challenge standards and deliver high-quality engineered responses.
What you’ll need to succeed:
- Experience working as part of a design team delivering detailed designs
- Proven track record in electrical design within a consultancy or similar environment, with a strong portfolio of completed projects
- Knowledge of relevant standards, codes, and regulations (e.g., BS 7671, Building Regulations)
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and calculation tools (e.g., Electrical-OM, Amtech, Dialux)
- Ability to design site-specific equipment as required
- Strong collaboration skills, working closely with other design professionals, including structural engineers, architects, surveyors, and contractors from both in-house and external project teams
- Expertise in advising clients and architects on energy use and conservation in various buildings and sites, aiming to minimise environmental impact and reduce the carbon footprint
