They have an exciting opportunity for an Ecologist to join their dynamic terrestrial ecology team. This role involves working with teams based in central England and the North, with most site work occurring between these regions. This is a varied and field-based position, requiring regular travel and overnight stays, especially during peak survey season. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment and exploring different locations, this role is ideal for you. You’ll collaborate closely with clients and colleagues, building strong relationships while contributing to meaningful environmental projects.
What you’ll need to succeed:
- Previous experience in a similar role, ideally within a commercial consultancy.
- Degree or postgraduate qualification in ecology or a related subject.
- Strong field skills in one or more specialist areas.
- Experience in project management or coordinating surveys.
- Knowledge of ecological legislation and survey best practices.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to write clear, concise reports.
- Full UK driving licence, access to a car, and willingness to travel and stay away regularly.
- Positive outlook and strong desire to succeed.
- Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., CIEEM).
- Experience preparing and issuing client quotes.
- Desirable: Protected species licences (e.g., GCN, bat, dormouse). Ornithological and/or botany skills. 2–3 years of sector experience.
