The Role: Hays Client is currently recruiting for a Tax Specialist to join our Group Tax Department based in Greater Belfast. Key responsibilities for the Tax Specialist role include but are not limited to:
- Managing the group’s UK tax affairs, including corporation tax compliance and monthly VAT returns.
- Preparation of IFRS tax accounting schedules.
- Supporting cross-border transactions.
- Preparation of transfer pricing documentation.
- Liaising with and supporting the group’s network of UK & overseas finance teams on tax-related matters.
- Assisting with merger and acquisition activities as well as group reorganisations.
- Continuous development of skills and staying current with tax legislative changes and industry standards.

About You:
Essential criteria:
- Educated to university degree, or vocational equivalent.
- The ideal candidate should be a corporate tax specialist with relevant post-qualified tax experience (ACA and/or CTA).
- Knowledge and experience of the UK corporation tax regime is essential, whilst experience of international taxation, indirect taxes (VAT) and employment taxes would be desirable.
- Strong project management and tax technical skills will be required, combined with a proactive approach and a willingness to learn.
- The role will require the candidate to work independently and as part of a team across a range of disciplines.
