We are working on behalf of a large public body based in Belfast to recruit a Civil Engineer on an initial temporary contract basis for 9-12 months.
This is a long-term temporary contract for months, with the possibility of extension. You will be based in Belfast City Centre and report to the Lead Officer. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and inspecting all infrastructure, including footpaths, car parks, roads, reservoirs, parks, and cemeteries, ensuring they are defect-free.
Your duties will include:
- Conducting inspections of assets for any defects
- Raising and managing works orders
- Carrying out on-site inspections
- Documenting site progress
- Overall project management of remedial works completion

What you’ll need to succeed
Qualifications Required:
- Degree or HND/C in Civil Engineering or equivalent Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Surveying.
- Minimum of 12 months relevant experience in a similar role.
- You must have a valid UK Driving Licence with access to a vehicle suitable for the role.
Desirable Skills:
- A basic level of skill using AutoCAD and MS Project.

Salary £39,859 per annum pro rata / £ per hour. Hours of work are Monday to Friday, 37 per week with flexible start and finish times. 36 days annual leave including stat days. Hybrid working – 2 days from home. Paid business mileage at 45p per mile.
