You will be joining a busy Major Projects team within a respected public sector organisation responsible for delivering high-profile regeneration and development initiatives, including the City Deal Programme and the regeneration of St Patrick’s Barracks. The team operates across multiple sites and works collaboratively with internal departments, external stakeholders, government bodies and community groups to deliver effective, high-quality services.
As Business Support Officer, you will provide professional, wide-ranging administrative support to the Major Projects team. Working in a fast-paced environment, you will ensure day-to-day administrative tasks are completed efficiently, accurately and to a high standard. Key duties include:
- Handling incoming emails, calls and enquiries, taking appropriate follow-up action
- Providing frontline support to the public, community groups and external organisations
- Preparing agendas, presentations, reports and other project materials
- Attending meetings to record and issue minutes
- Organising training sessions, events and meetings, ensuring all logistics and equipment are in place
- Managing administrative processes for invoices, purchase orders and payments
- Assisting with production of marketing and promotional materials
- Updating project information on the relevant Council webpages
- Supporting the delivery of Social Value plans across projects
- Liaising with internal departments, government bodies and other stakeholders to facilitate project delivery
This is a temporary post for 3 months, based in either Carrickfergus or Ballymena (location agreed with the successful candidate). Hours of work are 37 per week, Monday to Friday, with occasional flexibility required to meet service needs.
To be successful, you will need:
- 5 GCSEs including Maths and English (Grade C or above) or equivalent
- At least one year’s relevant Business Support experience in a busy office environment, including:
- Using computerised information management systems
- Providing frontline customer service
- Managing high volumes of work and prioritising effectively
Hourly rate- £X for 37 hours per week in a supportive and collaborative environment. Location either Carrickfergus or Ballymena. Opportunity to gain experience within a major public sector projects team.
