You will be joining a leading public sector organisation dedicated to delivering high‑quality tourism, arts, culture and community services across the Mid & East Antrim area. Their venues host an exciting range of activities including theatre performances, conferences, exhibitions, heritage events and visitor services. They are committed to excellent customer care, high standards of service delivery and creating a welcoming environment for all visitors.
As Braid Duty Manager, you will support the smooth day‑to‑day running of a busy multi‑purpose arts and cultural venue. Working on a rota basis, you will provide front‑line leadership to teams including Ushers, General Assistants, Bar Staff, Box Office/Reception and Cleaning staff.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing theatre performances, liaising with promoters and ensuring exceptional visitor experience
- Overseeing theatre bar operations, including staff supervision, stock and service
- Supporting the maintenance of the ticketing system and ensuring accurate event set‑up
- Ensuring effective delivery of Visitor Information Centre services when required
- Coordinating room set‑ups, bookings and events
- Assisting with financial settlements and contract management for technical services
- Responding to building alarms and participating in an out‑of‑hours call‑out rota
- Maintaining high standards of health & safety, risk management, cleanliness and customer care
- Providing leadership, supervision, performance management and support to staff
This is a hands‑on operational role requiring visibility throughout the building, strong organisational skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, customer‑focused environment.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A third‑level qualification in arts, humanities, events or a related discipline and at least 2 years’ operational experience in an arts or entertainment venue OR At least 4 years’ relevant operational venue experience without a qualification
- Strong customer service skills and proven ability to work effectively with the public
- Experience supervising staff, allocating tasks and responding to changing demands
- Knowledge of health & safety, risk assessments and safe working practices
- Willingness to work shifts across six days, with additional Sunday and public holiday work when required
- Ability and willingness to respond to emergency call‑outs at unsociable hours
- Access to transport to meet the mobility requirements of the role
- Desirable qualifications include IOSH Managing Safely or COSHH certification.
