Are you a passionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role in the Axminster area? Hays Education is working in partnership with a number of village primary schools around Axminster to recruit SEND Teaching Assistants for the new academic year. We have both full-time and part-time opportunities available, supporting children with a range of additional needs in inclusive and nurturing school environments.
This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced SEND professionals, Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Assistants, or individuals with transferable experience who are passionate about helping children achieve their full potential.
The Role
- Providing 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs
- Supporting small group interventions across the school day
- Assisting children with communication, social and emotional development
- Working alongside class teachers and SENDCOs to implement support plans
- Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in learning
- Creating a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment
- Supporting pupils with needs including ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, SEMH, and moderate learning difficulties
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience working with children or young people
- Experience supporting SEND pupils is highly desirable
- A patient, caring and resilient approach
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a school team
