As an Assembly Fitter / Field Service Engineer, you will be a vital member of the team, supporting both our in-house manufacturing operations and our expanding after-sales service division. The role combines mechanical assembly work at our facility with service, commissioning and installation duties at customer sites across the UK, Ireland and international locations. You will play a key part in ensuring our machinery is built, delivered, and maintained to the highest standards. Your key duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Assemble and fit industrial shredding machinery in line with engineering drawings and build specifications
- Support machine preparation and testing prior to dispatch
- Carry out on-site installation, commissioning, and operator training
- Diagnose mechanical faults and perform routine maintenance at customer facilities
- Provide technical support and feedback to the After Sales Manager and wider engineering team
- Complete service reports and job documentation accurately and on time
- Ensure all tools, parts and equipment are maintained in good working order
- Uphold the company's lean manufacturing and quality standards in all activities
A significant element of this position will be field-based. You will be provided with a fully equipped company van and the necessary tools to perform your duties effectively. As a company representative, you must demonstrate professionalism, strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach at all times. Flexibility for travel and occasional overnight stays will be required in order to meet business and customer needs.

In order to be considered for this role you will need to demonstrate the following skills, experience and qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a mechanical assembly or field service engineering role
- Strong working knowledge of mechanical systems and components
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Experience in industrial equipment or heavy machinery assembly is highly desirable
- Basic electrical or hydraulic experience would be advantageous
- Full clean driving licence is essential
- Relevant mechanical engineering qualifications or time-served apprenticeship preferred
The standard working week is 38 hours, running Monday - Thursday 07:30 - 17:30. Additional hours may be required on occasion to fulfil the responsibilities of the role. Any extra time worked will be compensated in accordance with contractual overtime or time-in-lieu arrangements. The salary available is highly competitive and is provided in conjunction with company pension scheme, a fully equipped company van for field duties (no personal use), ongoing training and development opportunities, expenses and allowances for travel as applicable.
