Your new job working as a SME Account Executive will be based in their Amersham office for an Independent National Broker. Your new Brokers employ over 300 staff around the UK. They have grown rapidly in the last 20 years to be one of the top independent brokers in the UK dealing with over 16,000+ clients. Having completed numerous successful acquisitions, the company has secured further funding to continue its ambitious growth plans. They hold Chartered Insurance Broker status, awarded in recognition of their commitment to maintaining the highest standards in many areas.
Due to growth within their commercial SME Team, a permanent role for an Account Executive has arisen.
In this position as an SME Account Executive, you will play a pivotal role in managing and growing a portfolio of small to medium-sized commercial clients. Your focus will be on e-traded commercial business, with the opportunity to expand into specialist schemes such as audio-visual insurance. You will act as the primary point of contact for your clients, building strong and lasting relationships by understanding their unique needs and delivering tailored insurance solutions. Day-to-day, you will oversee the full lifecycle of client accounts, from handling inquiries and providing expert advice to managing renewals and negotiating competitive terms with insurers. A key part of your role will involve identifying new business opportunities through networking and market insight, ensuring that you not only retain existing clients but also drive growth within your portfolio. Collaboration is also essential—you will work closely with colleagues to ensure seamless service delivery. This is a dynamic role that combines relationship management, business development, and technical expertise.
In order to succeed in this role, you must have experience within the insurance sector, particularly in commercial insurance and E-Trade package policies. You must possess strong knowledge of insurance products, markets, and underwriting processes along with proficiency in using Insurance platforms and client management systems. You should have the ability to generate new business, manage client portfolios effectively and have a comprehensive understanding of compliance regulations, including FCA regulations and customer duty obligations. It is preferred that you are Cert CII qualified or are working towards it along with having previous experience using Acturis or similar systems. The ideal candidate for this role will be someone who has strong communication, negotiation and observation skills alongside a client-focused mindset.
