You will be joining a highly respected organisation responsible for caring for some of the nation's most iconic sites. Their mission is to protect, preserve, and enhance world-class heritage while ensuring it can be enjoyed by millions today and by future generations.
As the Head of Maintenance & Facilities, you will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight across a multi-site estate. You will lead large, multidisciplinary teams delivering maintenance, conservation, compliance, and facilities services, while shaping the long-term strategy for sustainability, green energy transition, and the adoption of new technologies and AI. This role is central to ensuring these remarkable historic spaces remain safe, functional, and preserved to the highest standards.
To thrive in this role, you will bring:
- A Degree (or equivalent) in Facilities/Estates Management, Engineering, Building Services, or a related field
- Chartered membership (IWFM, RICS, CIOB, IMechE, IEE or similar)
- Senior-level experience in estates or facilities management, ideally within heritage or complex multi-site environments
- Strong technical knowledge of building maintenance, conservation, and compliance
- Experience leading and developing large multidisciplinary teams
- Proven ability to manage complex projects under pressure
- Strong financial acumen and experience managing significant budgets
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- A genuine commitment to sustainability and heritage conservation
Salary: £79,000 - £87,000 per annum
