Contract: Temporary, Full-Time - 35 hours per week

We are currently recruiting for a Facilities Assistant to join a busy and welcoming university campus in London. This is a varied, hands-on role supporting the day-to-day operation of university buildings and ensuring a safe, clean, and positive environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Your new role

  • Assisting with room set-ups and moves for lectures, events, and conferences
  • Carrying out general porterage duties, including lifting and shifting furniture and equipment
  • Supporting waste management and recycling processes across campus
  • Conducting regular building checks and reporting maintenance issues
  • Providing excellent customer service to students, staff, and visitors
  • Assisting with campus events and operational requirements
  • Monitoring access to buildings and responding to security-related matters where required
  • Ensuring health and safety procedures are followed at all times
  • Working within the CCTV room

What you'll need to succeed

  • A valid SIA Licence (essential)
  • Previous experience in a facilities, porter, caretaker, security, or maintenance support role
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to undertake physical duties, including lifting and moving equipment
  • Reliable, professional, and able to work as part of a team
  • Flexible approach to work and willingness to support operational needs across campus
