We are currently recruiting for a Facilities Assistant to join a busy and welcoming university campus in London. This is a varied, hands-on role supporting the day-to-day operation of university buildings and ensuring a safe, clean, and positive environment for students, staff, and visitors.
Your new role
- Assisting with room set-ups and moves for lectures, events, and conferences
- Carrying out general porterage duties, including lifting and shifting furniture and equipment
- Supporting waste management and recycling processes across campus
- Conducting regular building checks and reporting maintenance issues
- Providing excellent customer service to students, staff, and visitors
- Assisting with campus events and operational requirements
- Monitoring access to buildings and responding to security-related matters where required
- Ensuring health and safety procedures are followed at all times
- Working within the CCTV room
What you'll need to succeed
- A valid SIA Licence (essential)
- Previous experience in a facilities, porter, caretaker, security, or maintenance support role
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to undertake physical duties, including lifting and moving equipment
- Reliable, professional, and able to work as part of a team
- Flexible approach to work and willingness to support operational needs across campus
