An established, globally recognised banking institution is seeking a Finance Business Partner to join its Finance function at HSBC in London. This is a highly visible and commercially focused role, partnering closely with senior stakeholders to shape strategic decision-making and deliver meaningful impact across key business units.
You will have the opportunity to support and partner with senior Commercial Banking leadership to drive competitive business growth while delivering sustainable target returns. The role offers broad exposure across the organisation, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams including Finance, Risk, and Infrastructure to achieve strategic business objectives and optimise performance outcomes.
Your new role
- Supporting senior Commercial Banking leadership in driving competitive growth while delivering sustainable target returns.
- Partnering with colleagues across Finance, Risk, and Infrastructure to achieve targeted business outcomes and enhance cross-functional collaboration.
- Conducting detailed financial and non-financial analysis to evaluate product performance, identify emerging trends, and model future performance scenarios.
- Contributing to the annual planning cycle, including stress testing and financial modelling, and supporting the delivery of external financial and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Providing strategic and financial support to product leaders and their teams on performance management, pricing strategy, growth initiatives, and investment case development.
What you'll need to succeed
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent), or qualified by relevant practical experience.
- Proven experience in a Finance Business Partnering role, with the ability to influence and support strategic decision-making.
- Strong financial modelling capability, including forecasting and business case development, with a clear understanding of approved modelling methodologies and a robust control environment. High attention to detail is essential.
- Advanced financial and analytical thinking skills, with the ability to identify patterns and relationships, assess information objectively, and translate complex data into clear, impactful financial narratives.
- Demonstrated ability to build and sustain effective stakeholder relationships, underpinned by empathy, emotional intelligence, and transparent communication. Skilled in negotiation, conflict resolution, and professional networking.
