The Product Designer is a pivotal hybrid role that integrates design aesthetics, engineering precision, and hands-on quality control. Acting as the key liaison between design teams and manufacturing partners, this role ensures that products are visually compelling, functionally sound, and manufactured to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Review and analyse design concepts, technical packs, and engineering drawings to assess manufacturability and identify potential quality issues early in development.
Provide constructive feedback to design teams to optimise products for cost-effective, high-quality production without compromising creative intent.
Develop and maintain detailed QC checklists and inspection criteria aligned with design specifications and engineering standards.Supplier & Factory Liaison

Serve as a technical contact for factory partners, leading pre-production meetings to establish quality expectations and control points.
Travel to domestic factories to oversee production setup, conduct sample inspections (Proto, FIT, PP), and perform in-line and final inspections in accordance with AQL standards.Quality Control & Assurance

Lead resolution of quality issues through root cause analysis related to materials, construction, and workmanship.
Approve pre-production samples and provide clear, documented feedback.
Manage the sample approval process, ensuring all stages meet design and engineering specifications.Documentation & Communication

Maintain accurate records of all quality-related communications and decisions.
Provide regular updates to internal stakeholders on factory performance, quality metrics, and emerging risks.Desired Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor\’s degree in a Design discipline (e.g., Industrial Design, Product Design) or a Bachelor\’s degree in an Engineering field (e.g., Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Textile Engineering).Experience

Minimum of 3-5 years of technical QC experience in a relevant manufacturing environment (e.g., apparel, hard goods, electronics).
