Production Engineer in Peterborough

Peterborough Salary - Circa £50k Monday - Friday days Your new role: An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Production Engineer to join an established technology and engineering business producing complex electronic products for customers worldwide.This position would suit someone with a strong background in electronics manufacturing, production engineering and New Product Introduction (NPI) who enjoys working closely with both Engineering and Production teams. As Production Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring products can be manufactured and tested effectively, while supporting the introduction of new products and improving existing manufacturing processes. Key Responsibilities & Duties: Leading the introduction of new products into production, working closely with Product Engineering, Production and Supply Chain. Supporting product development to ensure manufacturability and testability. Contributing to the design and development of production test systems. Identifying opportunities to improve manufacturing processes, efficiencies and product quality. Leading continuous improvement initiatives within production. Supporting and maintaining existing manufacturing processes and production test equipment. Working with manufacturing subcontractors to ensure their production and testing processes align with internal requirements. Providing technical support across Engineering and Production.This is just a summed-up list, and other duties will be required. Skills & Experience required: Previous experience in Production Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a similar role. Strong experience manufacturing and testing complex electronic products. Knowledge of PCB/PCBA manufacturing and Surface Mount Technology (SMT). Understanding of electronic product design and testing. Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI). Ability to identify and implement improvements to manufacturing processes.
