Your new company Hays are partnering with a well-established and growing organisation to appoint a General Manager to lead multiple locations across Northern Ireland. This is a senior leadership position requiring a commercially focused and operationally strong individual who can drive business performance across sales, operations, customer service, and people management. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading branch and warehouse operations, managing budgets, developing high performing teams, and implementing strategies to support continued growth and profitability.

This role would particularly suit a proven multi-site leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a track record of delivering commercial success through effective leadership and operational excellence.

Your new role:

  • Provide leadership and strategic direction across multiple locations.
  • Drive sales growth, profitability, and operational performance across the business.
  • Manage branch and warehouse operations to ensure efficiency, service excellence, and customer satisfaction.
  • Take ownership of budgets, forecasts, and P&L performance across all sites.
  • Develop and implement business plans to support commercial growth objectives.
  • Monitor and analyse key performance indicators, implementing improvement plans where required.
  • Lead, coach, and develop site management teams, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and key stakeholders.
  • Ensure effective stock management, inventory control, and operational processes are maintained.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across operations, sales performance, and customer service.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety, regulatory, and company standards.

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Proven experience in a General Manager, Operations Manager, Regional Manager, or similar senior leadership role.
  • Demonstrable experience managing multiple sites or branch locations.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a proven ability to grow sales and improve profitability.
  • Experience managing budgets, financial performance, and operational costs.
  • Excellent leadership skills with a track record of developing and managing high-performing teams.
  • Strong operational management experience within a branch, distribution, trade, retail, or service-led environment.
  • Excellent communication, planning, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Desirable experience in the construction industry.
