A leading manufacturer of high-performance materials used in demanding industrial applications is seeking a Multi-skilled Maintenance Technician to join their team. With a strong focus on innovation, sustainability, and continuous improvement, this organisation plays a key role in supplying advanced solutions for the metallurgical, chemical, and high-temperature processing industries. The site is based in St Helens and operates in a friendly, safety-conscious, and forward-thinking environment.
Your new role
As a Multi-skilled Maintenance Technician, you\’ll be responsible for maintaining and improving a wide range of production and facility equipment. This includes performing emergency repairs, scheduled maintenance, and proactive upgrades to machinery and systems. You\’ll work with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, and contribute to the site\’s continuous improvement and World Class Manufacturing initiatives.Your working hours will be:
Monday to Thursday: 07:00-16:10
Friday: 07:00-12:00
What you\’ll need to succeed
To thrive in this role, you should bring:
- A completed engineering apprenticeship.
- Strong mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical skills.
- Working knowledge of PLCs, including fault-finding and reprogramming.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical data.
- Familiarity with safety protocols such as isolation procedures and permits to work.
- A current Electrical Installations certificate (or working towards it).
- Experience in a manufacturing environment with a focus on continuous improvement.
