A long‑established global manufacturer within the manufacturing sector is seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join its engineering function at a key production site in the Merseyside area. This position sits within a high‑performing technical team responsible for designing, developing, and improving complex mechanical systems used across large‑scale industrial processes.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will take ownership of mechanical design projects from concept through to implementation, supporting both new equipment development and continuous improvement of existing machinery. The role involves close collaboration with production, maintenance, and project engineering teams to ensure designs are robust, safe, and aligned with operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce detailed 3D models, assemblies, and engineering drawings using industry‑standard CAD software.
- Develop mechanical design solutions for new equipment, modifications, and process improvements.
- Conduct engineering calculations, tolerance analysis, and material selection to ensure reliability and performance.
- Support project delivery through design reviews, risk assessments, and technical documentation.

- Understanding of mechanical systems, automation, machinery, and industrial equipment.
