Your new role As a Senior Estimator, you will play a key role in assessing tender opportunities, reviewing technical documentation, and preparing detailed cost estimates for a variety of civil engineering projects.
Your responsibilities will include
Evaluating tender opportunities and reviewing drawings/specifications.
Defining scope of work and preparing conceptual, budgetary, and firm price estimates.
Conducting site visits to assess constraints and risks.
Collaborating with Operations and HSE teams to define subcontract packages.
Engaging with subcontractors and evaluating their proposals.
Coordinating with internal departments for technical input and design requirements.
Managing the tender process, including launch meetings, mid-bid reviews, and settlement meetings.
Ensuring compliance with bid governance and compiling submission documents.
Supporting contract negotiations and handovers to delivery teams.
Building and maintaining client and supply chain relationships.
What you'll need to succeed You'll ideally be a construction engineer or technician with experience in civil engineering structure repair, looking to transition into an office-based role.
A strong understanding of commercial issues, cost estimation, risk, and works programming is essential.
Familiarity with structural surveys, bridge bearing assessments, expansion joints, concrete repairs, and post-tensioning systems will be advantageous.
