An innovative and rapidly growing engineering business is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join its team. Specialising in the design and manufacture of bespoke automation systems, process equipment and advanced manufacturing solutions, this organisation works with leading global technology and industrial companies. Due to continued expansion, they are looking for a Project Manager to oversee the successful delivery of complex engineering projects from concept through to customer acceptance.
Your New Role
As Project Manager, you will take ownership of the full project lifecycle, coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards. You will act as the key point of contact for customers and internal stakeholders, driving project performance whilst maintaining a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of bespoke engineering and automation projects
- Develop project plans, schedules and resource requirements to ensure successful project execution
- Coordinate design, manufacturing, assembly and commissioning activities across multiple departments
- Manage project risks and facilitate design review stages to ensure production readiness
- Engage regularly with customers and senior stakeholders, providing updates on project progress
- Monitor project budgets, costs and financial performance, identifying and managing variances where required
- Analyse and present project KPIs and performance data to internal and external stakeholders
- Delegate tasks effectively and provide leadership to project teams
- Troubleshoot project challenges and implement effective solutions
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery and operational efficiency
What You'll Need to Succeed
- A minimum of 3 years' experience managing complex engineering, manufacturing or technical implementation projects
- Strong engineering, manufacturing or technical background
- Proven experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and delivering projects to demanding deadlines
- Excellent project planning, stakeholder management and organisational skills
- Proficiency in project management software such as MS Project or equivalent
- Strong communication, technical documentation and customer-facing skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
Desirable
- Degree-qualified in Engineering, Manufacturing or a related technical discipline
- PRINCE2, PMP or equivalent Project Management certification
- Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma qualifications
