Having won major contracts in the UK defence sector, this company will work in partnership with 3 major global engineering organisations to deliver a programme of world-leading defence projects directly to tier 1 and end client. Your new role: Our client has an exciting senior leadership opportunity to lead a committee on Quality, Safety and Security governance across a UK defence programme. As the Committee Lead, you\’ll drive zero-defect and zero-harm cultures, ensuring compliance with APQP, AQAP, and MoD security standards. You will form part of an independent committee that has oversight of all aspects of the project delivery to the end client. The committee will be made up of senior leaders from each of the organisations involved in the project and a representative from the end client. In this unique and unusual role, you will act as the Quality, Safety and Security subject-matter expert and lead on all APQP phase gate reviews as well as acting as the functional safety subject-matter expert. You will govern security compliance across data, hardware, and IP and be the primary interface with the consortium partners, supply chain and MoD customers on all Quality, Safety and Security matters. This is a senior technical leadership role which would suit someone who has a background working within the MoD or Royal Navy who has then moved into industry. What you\’ll need to succeed: For this role, we can only accept applications from UK nationals with SC clearance eligibility.You will be expected to have 5-10 years in defence/aerospace/regulated industrial sector QSS leadership with knowledge of APQP, PPAP, AQAP, FMEA, SIL/ASIL, and supplier assurance. You will need to have previous experience carrying out functional safety validations and have strong leadership in embedding safety and quality into product design and operational execution. At this level, it is expected that you have excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills and be comfortable engaging with government and MoD interfaces.
