Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Senior Production Manager to join their leadership team and take responsibility for the performance and development of multiple production areas across the site.
Your new role
As Senior Production Manager, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across manufacturing operations, ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of production targets while maintaining the highest standards of quality, customer service, and employee engagement. You will lead a team of Production Managers and Supervisors, driving operational performance, developing talent, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives that support business growth and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop production teams to achieve operational, quality, safety, and performance objectives.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement across manufacturing operations.
- Ensure production targets are achieved through effective planning, resource allocation, and performance management.
- Monitor and improve key manufacturing KPIs, including productivity, efficiency, quality, waste reduction, and labour utilisation.
- Promote and maintain high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance.
- Develop leadership capability across operational teams through coaching and succession planning.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and other departments to support site performance objectives.
- Lead operational improvement projects and support business transformation initiatives.
- Contribute as a key member of the site leadership team.
- Deputise for senior operational leadership when required.
What you'll need to succeed
Essential
- Minimum 5 years' experience within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Proven experience managing production teams and front-line leaders.
- Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and best practice.
- Experience managing multiple production lines or operational areas.
- Track record of achieving and exceeding operational performance targets.
- Strong people management, communication, and leadership skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making ability.
- Experience leading continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong stakeholder management skills.
Desirable
- Third-level qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related discipline.
- Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement qualification.
- Experience within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Project management experience.
