Based in Bedford, you will be joining a well-known and growing manufacturing business specialising in large-scale automated machinery manufacturing. Due to increased business and continuous growth, they are now recruiting for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join their design and automation team. The Electrical Design Engineer will be involved in the design and development of a range of large- and small-scale machinery. With a range of customers and a large order book, this is an excellent time for an Electrical Design Engineer to join an ever-expanding business.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- Carrying out electrical, pneumatic design
- Carrying out the validation of all designs to the current safety standards and requirements
- Carrying out design studies and reviews and preparation of specifications for special applications
- Completion of the FAT document and 'as-built' electrical documentation
- Support installation, troubleshooting visits at customer sites worldwide, working closely with Service and Aftercare teams
This is just a summary of duties, and other responsibilities will be required.
Skills & Experience required:
- Experience designing electrical control systems for special purpose machinery
- Experience designing safety control systems and validation using appropriate software
- Good understanding of AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN
- Experience in compiling BOMs
- Knowledge of safety equipment and standards
