Your new company is a Local Authority in Hampshire seeking an experienced Infrastructure & Design Engineer to support the design and delivery of drainage and flood risk management schemes across a diverse portfolio of projects. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing team working on technically challenging infrastructure projects while helping to mentor and develop junior engineers.

Your new role involves playing a key role in the development and delivery of drainage and civil engineering solutions from concept through to detailed design. You will work closely with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to produce high-quality engineering designs and technical outputs while supporting the professional development of less experienced team members.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and delivering drainage and flood water management schemes for a range of infrastructure and development projects.
  • Producing detailed civil engineering designs, drawings, calculations, and technical reports.
  • Developing and managing Civil 3D models and associated design documentation.
  • Carrying out hydraulic and drainage assessments to support project delivery.
  • Preparing contract and technical documentation to support construction activities.
  • Providing technical support throughout design and construction phases.
  • Reviewing project costs and supporting efficient project delivery.
  • Ensuring all designs consider health, safety, and sustainability requirements.
  • Supporting, mentoring, and providing technical guidance to junior engineers and technicians.
  • Liaising with clients, consultants, developers, and regulatory stakeholders.

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience delivering drainage, flood risk management, highways, or civil infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of drainage design principles and surface water management.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard software including: Causeway Flow, InfoDrainage, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant drainage and infrastructure design packages.
  • Experience producing engineering calculations, technical reports, and design documentation.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently within a collaborative team environment.
