A well‑established Civil Engineering Contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to take commercial lead on a portfolio of Infrastructure and Civils projects across the region. This role offers autonomy, long-term career stability, and the chance to shape commercial strategy on technically challenging schemes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Taking full commercial responsibility across multiple civil engineering projects
- Managing cost control, forecasting, CVRs and monthly reporting
- Preparing and negotiating contracts, variations and claims
- Managing subcontract procurement, appointments and performance
- Overseeing valuations, payments and final accounts
- Working closely with operational teams to ensure accurate cost management
- Supporting junior commercial staff and contributing to wider commercial planning
- Ensuring compliance with contract conditions and company procedures
Experience & Skills Required:
- Strong background as a QS/Senior QS within Civil Engineering (Infrastructure, Highways, Drainage, Structures, Earthworks or similar)
- Thorough understanding of NEC contracts
- Excellent commercial awareness and a proven track record of managing project finances
- Strong negotiation, communication and stakeholder‑management skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with delivery teams
- High attention to detail and strong analytical capability
