Your new company is an established regional contractor based in Berkshire who work on a range of schemes from £3 to £20 million on new build and refurb schemes in Education, Healthcare, Leisure & Retail, Commercial & Industrial as well as Care Homes and Blocks of Flats. Most of their work is repeat business negotiated with long-term clients, and they work within an hour of the office, so Berkshire, Surrey and Hampshire areas. They have a full order book for 2025 and are nearly there with 2026 and have a number of other opportunities they are looking at, so they are in a great place for future work security and have had several successful years, so they are cash rich with money in the bank. They have a great reputation with subcontractors, suppliers and clients in terms of quality, fairness and respect and are highly active and engaged in local community projects. Staff retention is excellent and the work environment is friendly, supportive and professional.
Your new role involves taking schemes from inception through to completion - working with bid and estimating teams before procuring and vetting subcontractors and then taking out onto site to help deliver the projects on time, defect-free and to budget. You will be given autonomy to make your own decisions and report directly to the Commercial Director. You will either manage 1 major scheme or several smaller ones whilst giving advice and input into wider company plans. You will be responsible for forecasting, budgets, payments, valuations, CVR's etc. and be expected to deal with the client and external professional bodies. They also have a thriving graduate and trainee programme that you will help with, guiding and developing the next generation of talent.
