Your new company
HMP Swansea is a prison located in central Swansea, Wales, that primarily holds adult male offenders. It is a Category B local prison, meaning it accommodates prisoners on remand (awaiting trial or sentencing) as well as those serving short sentences.
Your new role
Working as a Security Officer, you will be working alongside the operational security team. You will be responsible for escorting/assisting contractors as they carry out maintenance work around the prison, visitor checks, toolkit checks and vehicle searches. You will assist in the safety of visitors around the site and ensure no unauthorised items enter the site. This role will require Mon-Fri 8am-4.30/5pm. It is a temporary contract on an ongoing basis. All rates are inclusive of holiday. Standard: £15.34 P/h.
What you'll need to succeed
You will not require previous experience as you will receive full on-the-job training. However, security experience is desirable. You will need to be a strong communicator, level-headed and security-conscious. You will be able to work well in a team and have excellent interpersonal skills. You will be required to provide 2 satisfactory references and will be subject to full prison clearance.
