A well-established regional contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Freelance Site Manager to oversee a specialist roofing and refurbishment project within a highly prominent public facility in the North West. The scheme is taking place in a busy, fully operational environment with significant daily footfall, requiring excellent stakeholder management and a proactive approach to health and safety.
You will take responsibility for managing a live roofing and re-insulation project involving flat roofing works, temporary weather protection systems and associated refurbishment activities. The works are located at the heart of a busy visitor destination, with public access maintained throughout the project. This role requires a Site Manager who is confident operating in challenging live environments, coordinating subcontractors, maintaining programme targets and liaising with multiple stakeholders including client representatives, site users and members of the public.
What you'll need to succeed:
- Previous experience managing flat roofing and building envelope projects
- Good technical understanding of roofing, insulation and weatherproofing systems
- SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications
- Strong knowledge of health & safety legislation and site compliance
- Experience working within busy occupied or public-facing environments
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage subcontractors and maintain high-quality standards
- Proven track record delivering projects safely within programme
