We are seeking an ambitious and motivated MEP Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial Team, supporting the delivery of works within a fast-paced, high-profile building services environment. The successful candidate will work closely with the Commercial Manager and project teams to support the commercial delivery of new works, life cycle projects, and business-as-usual maintenance activities. This role provides an excellent opportunity for professional development and progression within a growing commercial team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Commercial Team with the commercial management of MEP projects and maintenance works.
- Obtain and evaluate quotations through competitive tender processes.
- Analyse tenders and support the procurement of materials and subcontractor packages.
- Assist in the preparation and management of payment schedules and cash flow forecasts.
- Monitor project costs, margins and commercial performance, reporting to senior management as required.
- Measure completed works and assist with the preparation and agreement of payment applications.
- Monitor the progress of applications, valuations and any commercial disputes.
- Control and monitor subcontractor costs and variations.
- Identify, record and manage compensation events and commercial risks.
- Assist with risk and value management processes to optimise project outcomes.
- Support the preparation, negotiation, administration and close-out of supply chain contracts.
- Ensure all contractual notices, documentation and correspondence are issued accurately and in accordance with contract requirements and company procedures.
- Produce weekly commercial and project progress reports.
- Support the preparation of interim financial reports and payment certificates.
- Attend contractual meetings, take technical minutes and prepare follow-up documentation.

- Accurate measurement and valuation of completed works.
- Effective control of subcontractor and material costs.
- Timely submission of payment applications and valuations.
- Accurate cash flow forecasting and margin reporting.
- Identification and management of commercial risks and compensation events.
- Delivery of weekly project progress and commercial reports.
- Compliance with contractual and company procedures.
- Successful administration and close-out of supply chain contracts.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Good understanding of Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health (MEP) building services.
- Experience in quantity surveying within construction, building services or facilities management environments.
- Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills.
- Experience preparing and reviewing tender enquiries and quotations.
- Ability to monitor costs, valuations and project budgets.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Experience operating document control and filing systems.
- Ability to prepare clear and accurate reports and contractual correspondence.
- Experience taking technical meeting minutes and recording project actions.
