Your new role

This position is offered Outside IR35, subject to assessment. You will play a key role in delivering a major environmental and water‑infrastructure programme across Leicestershire, Staffordshire and Derbyshire, supporting regulatory compliance, construction‑phase environmental management, and ecological considerations.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Producing scoping documents and environmental reports.
  • Developing silt mitigation plans and water quality management measures.
  • Supporting HRA, FRAPs and discharge consent applications.
  • Managing permit acquisition, monitoring requirements and compliance activities.
  • Reviewing and applying KEMP and PEA findings to the project.
  • Liaising with regulators and statutory authorities throughout the scheme.
  • Collaborating with contractors already undertaking early‑phase works, including de‑vegetation and ecology support.
  • Providing environmental input across a cross‑country water transfer route as part of a WINEP‑driven river health improvement scheme.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Strong environmental consultancy / management background.
  • Experience with HRA, FRAPs, discharge consents, and permitting processes.
  • Ability to produce high‑quality environmental documents (scoping, water quality, silt mitigation).
  • Confidence working with regulators, authorities, and contractors.
  • Availability for a full‑time, 12‑month contract and able to attend a corporate induction at the start of the month.
  • Flexibility to work across Staffordshire/Leicestershire/Derbyshire.
