We are seeking a skilled and proactive HVAC Engineer to join our Facilities Management team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and optimization of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems across a large, complex estate. This role is critical to ensuring a safe, comfortable, and energy-efficient environment for staff, students, and visitors.

Your new role

  • Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on HVAC systems, including boilers, chillers, air handling units, and associated controls.
  • Diagnose faults and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and internal health and safety standards.
  • Monitor and optimize system performance to improve energy efficiency and sustainability.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed and assist with audits and inspections.
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines and contractors to deliver high-quality service.

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Proven experience in HVAC maintenance and repair within a commercial or institutional setting.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS) and energy efficiency principles.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Desirable

  • F-Gas certification.
  • Experience working in large estates or multi-building environments.
