A number of opportunities have arisen for ambitious and driven rating surveyors to join our client's friendly and collaborative surveying team specialising in business rates as they prepare for the new rating list. The Rating Department provides expert rating advice to a wide range of clients across the office, industrial and retail sectors across the UK. Based in the Head Office in Manchester, the candidates would be working primarily with the head of rating to manage casework from our diverse client base to reduce their historic and future liabilities.
Main responsibilities to include:
- Undertake Rating Valuations and Appeals
- Undertake research/analysis of comparable rental evidence
- Inspecting/measuring client properties (principally industrial/office/retail)
- Negotiate with the Valuation Office Agency
- Prepare Submissions for Challenges
- Represent at Valuation Tribunal
- Support and work alongside all members of the surveying team and other operational departments.
The Candidates:
- Be working towards or already qualified MRICS/IRRV qualification. Would look at people who aren't chartered too but have ratings experience
- Have a minimum of 2 years' experience as a Rating Surveyor
- Have a strong knowledge of ratings and case law
- Hold a full Driving Licence
- Be ambitious and motivated to progress their career
- Have excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Be able to work on your own initiative.
- Possess good IT skills, including proficiency in Word and Excel
- Be well-organised, flexible and work to tight deadlines.
Salary and benefits:
- Salary up to £50,000 commensurate with skills, qualifications and experience
- Commissions 6% of savings made
- Car Allowance £4800
