Your new role:
- Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail, parcels, and packages to the correct departments or individuals.
- Collect and process outgoing mail, including franking, weighing, and preparing items for dispatch.
- Handle special or recorded deliveries, ensuring accurate tracking and obtaining signatures when required.
- Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing mail, including costs and delivery logs.
- Operate franking machines and other mailroom equipment safely and efficiently.
- Deliver urgent items internally or externally, occasionally requiring visits to post offices or other sites.
- Monitor and replenish mailroom supplies (e.g., envelopes, packaging materials).
- Ensure compliance with security procedures, including handling suspicious packages appropriately.
- Assist with basic administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, and maintaining documentation.
- Keep the postroom clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety standards.
- Provide support for courier bookings and liaise with delivery services.
