You will be joining an industry-leading Tier 1 civil engineering contractor delivering a major highways project in Nottingham. This multi-accredited and highly respected contractor has a strong pipeline of long-term regional works and offers excellent opportunities for career progression and professional development. Due to continued success, they are actively seeking a Senior Site Engineer to join their delivery team. This is a full-time permanent position based in Nottingham.

Your new role

As Senior Site Engineer, you will take technical responsibility for key elements of the works, ensuring construction is delivered safely, accurately and in line with programme and specification. Working closely with the Site Agent and Project Manager, you will provide engineering leadership on site and support the development of junior engineers.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and overseeing all setting out and surveying activities
  • Ensuring works comply with drawings, specifications and quality standards
  • Supporting short‑term planning and coordinating day‑to‑day site activities
  • Checking and approving subcontractor works and technical submissions
  • Managing quality assurance records and as‑built information
  • Contributing to method statements, risk assessments and temporary works
  • Mentoring Site Engineers and Graduate Engineers on site
  • Maintaining a strong focus on health, safety and environmental compliance

This is a technically focused, hands‑on role offering real influence over site delivery on a major highways project.

What you'll need to succeed

To excel in this role, you will bring:

  • A degree/HNC/HND in Civil Engineering (or related discipline) or experience equivalent
  • Proven experience as a Site Engineer or Senior Site Engineer within heavy civils, ideally on highways projects
  • A strong understanding of QA processes and engineering standards
  • Excellent setting out skills using GPS, Total Station and AutoCAD
  • A proactive, detail-focused and collaborative approach
  • CSCS and full UK driving licence.
