We're currently recruiting for an experienced Carpenter / Joiner to join a respected East Midlands Housing Association on a temp-to-perm contract. This is an excellent opportunity to secure long-term work with the potential for a permanent position, carrying out repairs and maintenance to void properties across Northamptonshire.

The Role:

Working within the voids maintenance team, you will be responsible for bringing properties back up to a lettable standard ready for new tenants. The position focuses on general repairs and maintenance, with carpentry and joinery being your core trade.

Typical Duties:

  • Door repairs and replacements
  • Lock fitting and maintenance
  • Skirting boards, architraves and general joinery work
  • Window and frame repairs
  • Internal and external carpentry maintenance
  • Fencing and gate repairs
  • Minor patch plastering and decorating works
  • Basic plumbing and other multi-skilled repairs
  • Ensuring void properties are completed to a high standard

Essential Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 2 in Carpentry & Joinery (or equivalent)
  • Previous social housing maintenance experience
  • Experience working on void properties
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Ability to carry out basic multi-trade repairs alongside carpentry works
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
