We're recruiting an experienced Groundworker / Machine Driver to join a respected civils contractor delivering ongoing works across electricity substation sites in the Greater Manchester and Lancashire areas. This is a permanent PAYE role working on a long-term framework programme, offering stability, consistent hours, and genuine progression opportunities for the right person.

Your new role includes:

  • Groundworks associated with substation construction and upgrades
  • Drainage installation - including deep and shallow drainage
  • Concrete works - bases, plinths, and formwork
  • Ducting installation for HV infrastructure
  • Operating plant and machinery safely (360 excavator, dumper, or roller depending on tickets)
  • Working to strict health & safety protocols on high-voltage sites
  • Supporting the site teams to ensure deadlines are met to a high standard

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Proven experience as a Groundworker and/or Machine Driver
  • Valid CPCS or NPORS plant tickets (desirable)
  • CSCS card required
  • Experience on substation or utility projects is a strong advantage
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Strong awareness of site safety and compliance
