Your new company is a National Multi Disciplinary consultancy based from their Manchester office. They are looking for a Graduate Building Surveyor to join their team, largely working within the education sector but also touching on health, rail, residential and commercial sectors.
Your new role includes:
- Delivering condition surveys, such as windows, roof, and boiler replacements, primarily within education, schools, and academies covering the North West region.
- Reporting to the Director and managing contractors.
- Supporting the Project Lead with the maintenance of the Design Risk Registers.
- Undertaking measured surveys and producing existing and proposed drawings.
- Preparing relevant tender documents, working drawings, specifications, design risks, pre-construction information, and schedule of works under supervision.
- Evaluating tenders and assisting in the production of tender reports.
- Carrying out planned maintenance and condition surveys, including determining the condition of existing buildings, identifying and analysing defects, and making recommendations for remedial action.
What you’ll need to succeed:
- A Building Surveying degree or similar.
- Professionally registered as a member with CIAT, RICS, or similar.
- Able to manage client and stakeholder expectations.
- Intermediate working knowledge and experience of model authoring in Revit.
- Routine use of Newforma Project Centre for managing email, creating, issuing and preserving record documents, and sharing files.
- Commercial and contractual awareness, including an understanding of the client's relationships, roles, and responsibilities with regard to customers and suppliers.
