We are currently recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Operative to join a leading social housing maintenance team covering properties across Luton and the surrounding areas. This is an excellent opportunity to secure long-term, ongoing work with a reputable contractor delivering essential repairs and maintenance services to housing association and local authority housing stock.
The Role
As a Maintenance Operative, you will be responsible for carrying out a broad range of property maintenance and repair works within occupied and void social housing properties. You will ensure repairs are completed efficiently, safely, and to a high standard while providing excellent customer service to residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out reactive and planned maintenance works
- Complete basic carpentry, plumbing, painting and decorating repairs
- Undertake minor patch plastering and making-good works
- Replace fixtures, fittings, locks, hinges and door furniture
- Conduct routine property inspections and identify repair requirements
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Maintenance Operative, Handyman, Multi Trader or Multi Skilled Operative
- Experience working within social housing, housing maintenance, local authority or property services environments
- Good all-round maintenance skills across multiple trades
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Own tools preferred
