We are supporting a leading specialist contractor who is seeking an experienced Project Director to lead a portfolio of complex construction and fit out packages across their London-focused business. Working with some of the UK's most recognised blue-chip corporates, premium hotel operators, major commercial clients and Premier League football clubs, the business delivers high-quality specialist fit out and technical installation packages on landmark projects throughout the capital. With an annual turnover of approximately £25m-£30m, the company has built an enviable reputation supporting many of the UK's leading commercial fit out and construction contractors on fast-paced, high-profile schemes.

You will have a proven track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously, leading specialist teams, and delivering technically complex packages within live commercial environments. Looking to take on a role where you can strengthen and improve project process and systems and lead the project teams through their next stage of development.

You will:

  • Report to the senior leadership team, taking overall responsibility for the successful delivery of multiple concurrent projects, leading Project Managers and delivery teams from pre-construction through to handover in a client-facing leadership role for this London-focused business.
  • Lead a portfolio of projects valued between £250,000 and £5m.
  • Manage and mentor Project Managers and senior delivery staff.
  • Maintain key client and stakeholder relationships.
  • Drive programme, commercial and operational performance.
  • Oversee governance, reporting, risk management and change control.
  • Support procurement, supply chain and resource planning activities.
  • Ensure the highest standards of quality, health & safety and project compliance.
  • Lead senior client meetings and act as the key escalation point for project delivery matters.
  • Protect profitability through effective commercial management and contract administration.

You will have:

A construction degree or equivalent and have worked as an Operations Manager, Contract Manager or Project Director in a Commercial Fit Out business. Taking multiple projects from precon to handover, supporting Bid/Tender stages. Project experience could include; Commercial Fit Out (Cat A & Cat B), Workplace Projects, Design & Build Interiors, with a good understanding of M&E packages.
