Your New Role: As the Lead Fire Safety Adviser, you will be a key member of the Health and Safety Team within the organisation's central compliance and governance function. Reporting to the Head of Occupational Health and Safety, you will lead on all aspects of fire safety across a multi-site academic, residential, and research estate. You will act as the organisation's competent person for fire safety, providing expert advice on legislation, policy, and best practice. Your responsibilities will include developing and implementing fire prevention and protection arrangements, managing the fire risk assessment programme, delivering training, supporting emergency evacuation procedures, and overseeing Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans (PEEPs). You will work closely with a wide range of stakeholders, including staff, students, NHS partners, and third-party tenants, to ensure an effective, resilient, and legal approach to fire safety.
