Hays Education are working with a mainstream school based in Allerton who are seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join them on a full-time basis. The role will involve:

  • Deliver high-quality learning activities to individuals, groups, and whole classes in the absence of the teacher
  • Provide targeted support to pupils, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND)
  • Support pupils to access the curriculum and participate fully in classroom activities
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to implement targets from EHCPs, IEPs, and support plans
  • Plan, prepare, and adapt learning activities and resources to meet individual needs
  • Assess, record, and report on pupils' progress and attainment
  • Support communication, language development, and social interaction
  • Promote emotional wellbeing, self-regulation, and positive behaviour strategies
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement in learning

Previous Experience Required:

  • HLTA qualification or equivalent relevant experience
  • Previous experience leading learning activities within a classroom environment
  • Experience working with children with SEN in mainstream or specialist settings
