We are seeking an experienced Banksman / Traffic Marshal to support contractors for a public sector organisation. This role involves managing vehicle movements and contractor coordination within a public realm environment, making it a varied and sometimes complex position that requires strong communication and safety awareness.
Your new role:
- Acting as an effective liaison between contractors and the day-to-day operation
- Managing the safe movement of vehicles through the public realm into the contractor site compound
- Escorting large vehicles and overseeing deliveries
- Maintaining clear communication between all contractors and staff
- Attending weekly operational meetings
- Collating weekly look-ahead schedules for vehicle movements and deliveries
- Implementing and maintaining a safe system of transport across the public realm for all vehicles
What you'll need to succeed:
- CPCS Card (Blue preferred)
- Demonstrable awareness of HSE regulations
- Knowledge of standard construction hand signals and procedures
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
- Physically fit and highly alert to potential risks
- Experience working within public-facing / public realm environments desirable
